TRIMESTER 3

prayers; introduced new verb avoir (to have), notes in notebooks; handout to practice avoir, completed sections 1 and 2 and checked orally    Devoir - study verb avoir and look up this question and write it on a clean page in your notebooks :  What are the official languages of the Olympic games and why?

le 24 fevrier

prayers; collected homework on Olympic languages; reviewed the verb avoir; completed handout from yesterday's class; distributed avoir sentences to form negatives; distributed French pen pal letters;     Devoir - complete worksheet, make 6 sentences negative and then translate each one

le 2 mars

prayers; reviewed the present tense of avoir and also the negative forms; checked the homework ditto with negative avoir sentences at the board; introduced several avoir idioms written in notebooks    Devoir - study avoir idioms tonight

le 3 mars

prayers; reviewed present tense of avoir and avoir idioms; classwork ditto with avoir dioms and English translations in matching column; group work with avoir idioms in word bank to creat sentences   Devoir - study avoir and avoir idioms for test Friday

prayers; reviewed avoir and avoir idioms; quiz on avoir and the idioms; watched quack video on AVOIR   Devoir- Homework none

LE 9 MARS DO THE FOLLOWING  AND HAVE THEM COMPLETED FOR OUR NEXT CLASS:

1. In the middle section of your notebook in English start a reply to your pen pal.  Write simple sentences about your family that we can translate into French in class.

2. In your notebook, use the correct form of the verb avoir and then an avoir idiom and write out the following sentences in French:   example:  You are sleepy.  Tu as sommeil.

1. I am thirsty.

2. You are hungry. (tu)

3. He is lucky.

4. Marie needs a book.

5. We feel cold.

6. You are 13 years old. (vous)

7. They are feeling warm.

8. The girls are sleepy.
