Materials

You will need to bring your text, three-ring notebook with loose-leaf paper, pencils, calculator with a fraction button, and a correction pen to class every day.  No spiral notebooks may be used for this class.

Assessment

Tests: All tests are announced with at least one-week notice.  Tests will be given at the end of a unit or chapter.  If you are absent on the day of a test, you will be responsible to make it up the day you return or, see me to reschedule a time to take the test.  Tests may include, but are not limited to paper and pencil tests, open book tests, and performance assessments done in class to demonstrate a mastered skill.

Quizzes

Quizzes are given frequently and are based on assigned homework or the previous days work.  Please note that pop quizzes may be given at any time.

Warm-Ups

Warm Ups are done in the first five to ten minutes of class.  These math warm-ups are collected at the end of the week and are graded.  As warm-ups are kept on the board for the entire week, and posted online. I encourage students to take their warm up home every night and check it with a calculator.  Warm-Ups will be posted online in a timely fashion.  Points will be deducted for late or incomplete warm ups.  All work must be shown; a list of answers is unacceptable.    WARM UPS MAY NOT BE MADE UP

Homework

Students are required to complete homework each night it is given.  Homework will be given most nights.  If you are absent, it is your responsibility to get your homework.  Homework will be posted online in a timely fashion.

Detention Policy

Any combination of three missing assignments will result in a detention. Incomplete homework assignments, or homework that was not finished, count as a missing assignment.  If work is not shown for all problems for homework, warm up, or a graded assignment, that assignment is considered incomplete and will count as missing.  Missing graded assignments and warm ups count towards the earning of a detention.
